Description |
A black, laquer-like finish tray. It has a multi-colored graphic in the center of two males and one female standing under a tree and next to a stream; in the background is a steamboat and the California State Capitol building. Hand written in gilt beneath the graphic is "1874 Weinstock's 1974". This was probably a souvenir item for the Weinstock, Lubin, & Co. centennial. The manufacturer's label on the back reads "Couroc is Unique Couroc serving pieces are cherished gifts because of their variety and beauty of design. Hand inlaid by master craftsmen, shells, coins, woods and metals are fused into satinblack phenolic. They are impervious to alcohol and boiling water. Wash with mild soap and water. by Couroc Monterey, California". Included is a manufacturer's brochure and the original clear plastic cover on which is printed in white "any tray can serve a drink only a Couroc can start a conservation". |
